While traveling back to Toronto, Canada, we had to fly out of Cochin International Airport. At the time, we were in Kanyakumari district, which is abo... While traveling back to Toronto, Canada, we had to fly out of Cochin International Airport. At the time, we were in Kanyakumari district, which is about 350 km away. Since the roads toward Trivandrum are not only narrow and winding, but also usually busy with heavy traffic. We felt that making the full journey in one stretch would be exhausting, especially with a over 24 hours multi-flights ahead of us. To make the trip easier, we decided to stay overnight somewhere safe and comfortable near Trivandrum so we could leave for the airport early the next morning when traffic would be lighter. A family friend recommended Blue Fox Inn, which was listed on Homestays. I did some quick Google research and found that the place looked perfect for our needs., so I booked two bedrooms online. The property offers a bed-and-breakfast service, and the price was surprisingly affordable, about Indian Rs. 3,150 per room per night. For two air-conditioned rooms with fans and breakfast for four people, the total cost I paid to was Indian Rs. 6,300, which is less than CA$110. We arrived at the property late in the afternoon, settled in, and the Hosts guided us where to have a delicious dinner. We went out and found multiple restaurants nearby. After dinner, we returned to the facility and had a very peaceful and comfortable sleep at night. The place was extremely clean, serene, and well maintained. The next morning we took showers, enjoyed a delicious breakfast, and then headed to Cochin International Airport in time. The hosts, Suresh Thampi and Shakunthala Thampi, were very gracious, respectful, welcoming and understanding. Their hospitality truly made our stay pleasant and memorable, although it was just a night stay. We highly recommend this place for both short-term and long-term stays, and we would definitely return to this property when the need arises, if and when we visit Kerala again.
